Thank You For Your Interest In Volunteering With Us!
Parish/ Diocesan Policy
Our diocese requires that we register all parish volunteers so that we can serve those in our care responsibly and effectively. All volunteers are required to complete a VIRTUS training course, acknowledge receipt of our Parish Codes of Conduct and complete an online Background Check Screening. You can begin to volunteer once you have submitted the completed volunteer application below along with your proof of Virtus attendance to the Parish Center Business Office.
Registering for Virtus
Register for your Virtus Account and Class Training Online. Be sure to choose “Rockville Centre (Diocese)” as your organization and/or Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Melville as your parish. It will give you the list of current classes being held AND you will register online for the session you choose. You will also complete your Code of Conduct Acknowledgement and Background Check Screening at that time. Instructions are included on the Volunteer Application Packet for you to follow. If you would like more information about the Diocese Efforts to Protect Children and Young People, please visit the Diocesan website.
If you have any questions about volunteering, please contact the Parish Center Business Office at 631-271-4455 and someone will be happy to assist you. Please note,
- These forms are not used to register you as a member of the parish.
- Only persons 18 years of age or over should fill out these forms.
All material marked “confidential” will be used only to determine a potential volunteer’s suitability for ministry. It will not be associated with any other parish records, and will not be used by the parish for any other purpose, nor shared with anyone without the person’s written consent. Only the pastor and professional staff (priests, deacons, directors and associate directors of parish departments) have access to confidential material, and only to the degree that it is needed to establish suitability for ministry and/or volunteer placement.
