ARE YOU 18+ AND INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC? WERE YOU BAPTIZED CATHOLIC BUT NOW WANT TO CELEBRATE FIRST COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a ministry for those interested in becoming Catholic and for those who want to receive First Communion and Confirmation. ADULT CONFIRMATION: If you are 18 or older, and have celebrated BOTH Baptism and your First Communion in a Roman Catholic Church, then this is for you! Life happens and sometimes being Confirmed in your high school years doesn’t work out. Well now it’s time!
Classes for kindergarten to eighth grade Faith Formation will begin in October 2020. We are offering classes in the Parish Center twice a month with a significantly reduced number of students in each room, following recommendations of the CDC and New York State requirements. Classes for special needs and older students who want to receive the sacraments are offered too. Our parish’s program partners with parents in passing on the Catholic faith and preparing their children for First Reconciliation (Confession), First Communion, and Confirmation.
Parent meetings will be offered in the church and through online virtual meeting platforms, giving parents choices to better accommodate complicated family schedules with the unknowns of Covid-19. The Family Program’s parent classes requirement will be on hold this academic year (2020-2021) as we determine how and if it can continue with the challenges of Covid-19. A calendar of classes and detailed information is posted on our parish website
