As a parish, we seek to bring the joy of Christmas to those who are struggling during this season. There are many ways to help. Click here for information on Giving Tree and Toy Drive
As we continue the tradition here at St. Elizabeth, on Sunday, December 16, the Third Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday), all are asked to bring the Christ Child from your Nativity to be blessed at any Mass. Then, carry that blessing back to your homes in preparation for Christmas! Bambinelli Sunday is a tradition started by Pope Paul VI about 30 years ago in Rome. Bambinello is Italian for “little baby boy” and is the name for the Infant Jesus in the Christmas crèche. On the Third Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday, children and families bring the “Bambinello” from their home crèche to St. Peter’s Square where the Pope blesses all the Bambinelli so that families may carry that blessing home with them. The tradition is being adopted by many churches around the world. If you have had your Bambinelli blessed already, please feel free to bring the infant to Church again!
