Catechists Needed!!

Our Faith Formation Program needs 4 more catechists for its Monday 4:30 p.m. classes.  Because enrollment is more than we had
anticipated, we need to divide existing classes into smaller groups. If you can commit to teaching, please contact our Faith Formation Office at 631-271-4455 Ext. 308  or email FaithFormation@stelizabeth.org.  In order to teach you will need to take the Virtus course, have a background check, and follow curriculum which is developed, step-by step in the Catechist Guide for each grade.

Bambinelli Sunday!

As we continue the tradition here at St Elizabeth, on Sunday, December 15, the Third Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday), all are asked to
bring the Christ Child from your Nativity to be blessed at any Mass. Then, carry that blessing back to your homes in preparation for Christmas!  Bambinelli Sunday is a tradition started in Rome. Bambinello is Italian for “little baby boy”  and is the name for the Infant Jesus in the Christmas crèche. On the Third Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday, children and families bring the “Bambinello” from their home crèche to St. Peter’s Square where the Pope blesses all the Bambinelli so that families may carry that blessing home with them. The tradition is being adopted by many churches around the world. If you have had your Bambinelli blessed already, please feel free to bring the infant to Church

Thanksgiving Day Mass

Everyone is invited to celebrate Thanksgiving Day as a community at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on November 28. In order to show gratitude to God for all the good that is bestowed on our St. Elizabeth Parish family, we are asking everyone to bring both canned goods and boxed
foodstuffs for our Food Pantry. These will be brought to the altar in the Offertory procession. Parishioners are invited to bring the bread and wine that will be used at their Thanksgiving meal to be blessed after Communion.  All proceeds from the Thanksgiving collection go to Outreach!  Click here for the entire flyer with thanksgiving prayers.
